Watermelon Monster

One of the things that surprised me when I got into flame fractal art is how some of the fractal wizards could produce such fascinating textures. Recursive structures and special tilings are certainly impressive, after all those are typically the sorts of things people imagine when they hear "fractal". But to take the same recursive tools and produce art that looks like a painting, with nuance and detail in the color fill felt about on par with chainsaw sculpture carving. But these techniques turned out to be my favorites, making abstract designs that balance between structure and texture.
