The Fractal Feed

Fractals are rad. If you wanted me to ramble on, you'd be in the library. But you came to see some fractals, and I'm happy to oblige. Enjoy the trip!

Fall 2024

A blend of perfect square tiling and chaotic Julian curves give this fractal a contrasted composition in light blue and pink ribbons with gold trims.
A smooth white tricorn shape is illuminated by wavy, vivid lines of glowing red.
Vibrant petals in bright yellow and murky purple burst out from a tricorn shape in smooth arcs.

Late Summer 2024

Smooth pink and purple fractal curves with wavy edges twist around two offset focal points, loosely creating an illusion of a smiling face.
A flower shape with clean arcs of orange and blue billowing out in a plantlike texture that fills the frame.
Vivid white arcs curve out from a round center, surrounded by bright pink and purple wave patterns, creating the illusion of a neon flower.
A corridor of logarithmic pillars retreat toward a glowing purple sphere, grey sine waves sizzle in the foreground.
An abstract wreath of wavy, ring shapes with rippling borders, decorate with orange shapes resmebling a city skyline, resonating in overlapping waves.
A burst of curved fractal shapes in triangular symmetry, arcing towards distant focal points in a chaotic mandala of pale purples and blues, with three glowing red arrow shapes poking out of the nest.
A fractal boquet of flowers made of ribbons in purple and orange.
A vibrating blue sphere is bisected by two bright white arcs through the middle, surrounded by a foggy blue atmosphere with arcing shadow shapes.
A bright fractal mandala that resembles both a sun and a spider.
Two groovy focal points reach out with plastic tendrils like stretched cellophane in bright orange and deep blue.
White angelic shapes swarm up towards some golden flower shape in the sky.
Fiery orange textures billow out from a hexagonal mandala shape of blue columns.
Round fractal spires in cool blue, threaded by orange fractal circuitry, illuminated by a central isometric cube in white with blooming sides.
An illusion of two moth-like shapes made of shining brass chain links. The two flyers glow against the dark, smokey background.

Wizard's Picks

Rich nebula clouds churn around a shining protostar, in sunset bonfire colors.
Two bright orange neon arcs whip out from a central knot, in a loose resemblance of an elephant head.
Clean white curves with orange and black striping twist in a lazy knot with a crossed hourglass shape.
A design with triangular symmetry, a pile of orange balls collects at each vertex, casting light along a smooth, blue, glassy floor
A vivid, spiked flower design with bright orange tips and purple petals, wrapped into a funnel vortex. This design is also the background of the website.
Soft pinks and purples, decorated haphazardly with blurred circles and oblong shapes, resembling eye floaters.

Machines Series

A recursive nest of fractal shapes resembling talons, or plant roots, wrapped around each other in dense circles with orange, purple, and blue tones.
These five renders represent (in a loose, fractally way) the evolution of machine systems from rigid patterns, to flexible patterns, to parallelized patterns, to dynamic systems, and finally, to a reality-shaping singularity.
The nest shape from Machines 0 is now twisted into a lopsided mushroom shape, and has shifted into cool purple and blue vaporwave tones
The circular nest shape is replicated like beads on a necklace, forming an arc of glowing yellow orb-like shapes against a machine grey background.
The orb nest has folded in on itself, creating a chaotic tangle within and without, in bright pinks and warm orange tones.
The talon-like fractal shapes have softened into a new order, making a web of wavy curves eminating from the orb, incorporating all the colors of the previous works in the series.
A swirling rainbow of ribbon shapes coming together in a triangular weave, with six sparking focal points around the red center.

Early 2024 Highlights

A bright swirl of fractal waves in orange, red, yellow and white, fading to blue at the fringes.
Three golden rings of different sizes overlap to form a perfect triangular central vortex. Along the outer parts of the rings, icy spires point in all directions, connected by tiled kalideoscope shapes.
Clean arcs of metallic silver and rich orance, in perfectly parallel groups of four cables, twisting towards a glowing round nexus.
A scattering of burning orange and yellow arcs with wavy gridlike textures sparkle against a black background.
Wavy arces of blue foam with crisp yellow edges crash around in a stormy tumble in vivid daylight colors.
A fractal design with threefold symmetry, smooth smokey lines of yellow converge on a glowing blue spark.
An intricate webbing of mandala shapes tiled in a loose spiral, orange and yellow patterns against kalideoscopic grey.

Escape Time Renders

A blocky abstract pattern wrapped in a flat circle, made of orange blocks and blue borders.
A small shadowy figures stands before an neon god head with infinite faces retreating into the background.
A simple fractal depiction of a friendly squid reaching out to hug you.
A groovy design with fractal fronds sprouting from an orange terrain.
Vivid orange and purple waves eminate from a trippy face-like center shape.
An abstract, fractal representation of a dark octopus crawling along the seafloor, in bright blues and yellows.
A shimmering white ribbon twists around two fractal mandala shapes with glowing orange cores.

Sentinels vs Dragons

A fiery orange dragon curves back around to confront a looming robotic sentinel with many long tendrils.
Two smaller sentinel robots are spun dizzy by the swooping fire dragon.
Robots in the skies with a million glowing eyes.
They were sent to the planet to scout and analyze.
Biggest of the lizards couldn't stand the noise,
so it started snapping circuit boards like tiny plastic toys.
That's how the war started, it's been going on for days
streaks of hot fire weaving through lethal rays.
It's amazing to see but it's hard to really guess
whether it's better to have wings or shiny metal jets.
I'm not taking bets, I'm too busy taking cover
As the titans of this planet do battle with each other.

I've been here for a week now, and the battle never stops.
Every few minutes I hear another robot body drop,
I hear another dragon screaming fire in the sky
and eerie quiet for a moment when a dragon finally dies.
I've cooked my meals on embers and exposed energy cores,
and I've learned to sleep at night in spite of booming battle roars.
My ship is going nowhere when the skies are scorching hot
so watching lizards battle bots is all that I've really got.

These dragons, I think, are more than what they seem
How else could they stay in the fray against machines?
And how come I never find a body on the ground?
I don't travel too far, but I took a look around.
All I found was scrapped machines and burnt debris
no bones or scales, anywhere as far as I could see.
And I swear I've seen them glitch, it's not imagination
I think they are projections of some kind of simulation.
Maybe it's martial training for the metal battle mind?
Or maybe it's entertainment where they play to kill time?
Either way, I don't see it ending any time soon.
So it's time to fly away, go chill out on a moon.
A single dragon retreats as the night falls, while many sentinels still loom.
