Sometimes when I look up at the stars in the night sky,
I try to wrap my tiny brain around what's before my eye.
How big is the space between my pupils and the stars?
What is the shape of the beam of light travelling so far?
And after such long and cold journey through the black,
do these photons like my iris, or is there something that it lacks?
Would they have liked to land upon a flower or a tree?
I guess I ought to thank them, for winding up at me.
